My research interests

I am a new student starting in Autumn 2026. I am broadly interested in connections between condensed matter physics and high energy physics/astrophysics. It is exciting and surprising to me that fundamental and emergent phenomena can often be described using such similar mathematics that a dialogue between the two is possible.

I will begin by numerically studying the feasibility of exciton-polariton systems as an experimental platform to test superfluid vortex dynamics. This is interesting because vortex depinning in the superfluid interior is believed to be related to glitches in the rotational frequencies of neutron stars.

Later on, I hope to gain a deeper theoretical understanding of experimental platforms such as acoustic black hole analogues in polariton superfluids or hyperbolic circuit QED lattices. This could lead to laboratory realisations of elements of quantum field theory in curved spaces.

Alongside this research program, I am hoping to learn tools from high energy theory that may help computations in condensed matter, such as holography.
